We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated pharmacist who prioritises patient safety and experience. This role offers opportunities for training and development, including structured rotations in Clinical Pharmacy Services and the chance to pursue post‑graduate qualifications such as a Certificate or Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice.
Main duties of the job
- Provide high quality ward‑based clinical pharmacy service, rotating through various wards. Duties include reviewing drug charts for safety and efficiency, taking drug histories and performing medicines reconciliation, supplying medicines, conducting patient medication consultations, medicines optimisation services, discharge medication service (DMS), and other medicines management activities.
- Participate in departmental and regional education and training programmes, including study toward the Certificate/Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice.
- Advise on both supply and clinical issues to other healthcare professionals.
- Provide medication‑related advice to patients, focusing on medicines started/changed/stopped in hospital and side‑effect profiles to maximise benefit.
- Assist in the education and training of pre‑registration pharmacists and staff in training grades.
- Supervise the daily activities of junior pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants.
- Participate in pharmacy dispensary activities as required: dispensing, clinical verification of prescriptions, prescription review, accuracy checking, and high‑quality patient medication consultation service.

Qualifications/Training
- Pharmacy degree (Masters level)
- GPhC Registration as a Pharmacist or Provisionally Registered Pharmacist
- Willingness to undertake clinical training to post‑graduate diploma level
- Train the Trainer qualification
- Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS)
