The role
As a Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be part of the Devonport Infrastructure Directorate, responsible for delivering a wide range of Ministry of Defence (MoD)-funded infrastructure and construction projects, including maintenance, improvements, and the development of new facilities across the Devonport site.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Manage projects across the full lifecycle, covering a range of disciplines, with a value of up to £4 million
- Deliver all aspects of project management, including planning, programming, finance, risk, control, monitoring, and Health & Safety at every stage
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with established procedures and governance
- Work collaboratively with supporting departments, including technical, commercial, procurement, scheduling, and Health and Safety teams
- Manage assistant project staff where required
- Produce scopes of work for straightforward project
This role is full time 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements available.
Essential experience
- Experience of project management and delivery of projects within building, construction, or related industry.
- Relevant knowledge and experience of the application of H&S Regulations.
- Knowledge of APM philosophy and responsibilities.
- Organisation skills and the ability to self-manage and produce information and reports.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office software.
- Good communication skills and the ability to deal with senior management and diverse stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Technical: degree in an engineering / construction subject is preferred but an HNC can be accepted depending on the level of experience and capability.
- Project Management: APM qualification but this may be waived for a period depending on the level of experience and capability.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
