Role Description The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Marfa Stance store in North Chicago, IL. This full-time, on-site role includes leading and coaching the team, ensuring an elevated customer experience aligned with the brand’s values, and maintaining visual merchandising standards that reflect the modular, sustainable nature of the collections. The Store Manager will handle scheduling, inventory management, cash handling, and store opening/closing procedures, as well as implement retail loss prevention practices. The role also involves monitoring sales performance, driving customer satisfaction, collecting product feedback, and collaborating with headquarters on local events and brand initiatives.
Qualifications
- Customer-focused skills, including Customer Satisfaction and Customer Service, with a proven ability to build lasting relationships.
- Strong Communication skills to effectively lead teams, interact with customers, and coordinate with brand and corporate stakeholders.
- Store Management experience, including staff supervision, scheduling, inventory control, and daily operational oversight.
- Knowledge of Retail Loss Prevention practices to safeguard assets and maintain a secure, compliant store environment.
- Experience in premium or luxury retail, with an understanding of visual merchandising and brand storytelling.
- Ability to work full time on-site, including weekends and holidays as needed
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, and team development.
- Comfort with basic retail technology and point-of-sale systems eg Shopify
- Interest in sustainable fashion and modular design concepts; prior fashion or apparel experience is a plus.
- Experience of Private Selling, Personal Shopping and a strong network of London based clients is essential (Chelsea area)
