Principal Mechanical Engineer – Cambridge
Your role as a Principal includes winning and delivering work from both existing and new clients, supporting the regional lead to specialise in delivery for the Southern Region, and building a successful engineering team to grow the business in the South Eastern region. You will work on a varied portfolio of projects across the UK and internationally, leading small projects up to a few £million and supporting larger projects valued at £100 million and more. Projects span commercial offices, retail, and schools/further education, and you will be directly involved with a variety of large framework agreements.
Skills & Qualifications
- Chartered status
- Strong technical knowledge in primary engineering discipline and relevant UK and EU regulations, design guides, etc.
- Good understanding of the secondary engineering discipline
- Ability to manage projects to avoid technical and commercial risk
- IT literate with knowledge of relevant packages such as Hevacomp, IES, and Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and spoken English skills
- Excellent organisational and planning skills to meet time scales and deadlines
- Extensive knowledge of contract administration, procurement and conditions of contract / appointment
- Ability to develop effective relationships with strong interpersonal and influencing skills
- Proven track record in work winning and building successful teams
