Mechanical Site Manager in RG18

Job Summary

Mechanical Site Manager – Thatcham – 80‑week programme – £300‑£350 per day or £60,000‑£70,000 plus travel.

We look for a Mechanical Site Manager who prefers running a job properly rather than firefighting. This is the role if you want to lead a large, secure project where the mechanical package is around £10m and requires strong site leadership, coordination and high standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the mechanical delivery on site, keep subcontractors moving, maintain quality, and protect the programme day to day.
• Oversee mechanical installation from early coordination through to commissioning and handover support – managing labour, driving subcontractors, checking progress against programme, keeping quality, and ensuring safe, specification‑aligned delivery.
• Coordinate plant and materials, manage site logistics, track progress, deal with technical issues as they arise and keep the installation aligned with the programme.
• Work closely with the Project Manager and wider team while maintaining a site leadership role rather than a desk‑based support function.
• Communicate clearly, spot problems early and take responsibility for pushing the job forward.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience as a Mechanical Site Manager or a strong Mechanical Supervisor stepping into a bigger position.
• Knowledge of HVAC and general mechanical services, ability to keep pressure on delivery without losing control of quality or safety.
• Experience in secure, regulated or heavily controlled environments is an advantage.
• Organised, visible on site and confident managing access, compliance, sequencing and communication.

Compensation

Flexible package – either a day rate of £300 to £350 or a permanent salary of £60,000 to £70,000 plus travel. A good opportunity to own a major mechanical package on a long‑running project with a contractor looking for genuine delivery.
