Overview
An Associate Director opportunity within a specialist monitoring team advising funding institutions and development stakeholders across a broad range of construction and development projects. The role combines lender monitoring delivery, client account management, team leadership and regional growth responsibilities. Exposure includes development finance, project risk management and strategic reporting. Hybrid working arrangement. Permanent position.

The Role
- Lead lender monitoring instructions from appointment through to project completion
- Provide independent risk‑focused advice to banks, funders and development stakeholders
- Review procurement strategies, project programmes, development budgets and funding structures
- Assess project risks and advise on mitigation measures
- Prepare and oversee monitoring reports and drawdown recommendations
- Monitor project performance against agreed funding parameters
- Manage key client relationships and maintain repeat instruction pipelines
- Support fee generation and contribute towards regional business objectives
- Lead, mentor and develop surveyors within the monitoring team
- Maintain technical quality and reporting standards across commissions
- Provide strategic input into service development and regional growth initiatives
- Work closely with developers, lenders, consultants and project teams throughout project lifecycles
- Oversee complex development schemes across multiple sectors and asset classes
Candidate Requirements
- Degree in Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- MRICS or equivalent professional qualification
- Significant monitoring surveying or development monitoring experience
- Strong understanding of development finance and project risk assessment
- Experience advising lenders and funding institutions
- Proven ability to manage key client relationships and instruction portfolios
- Experience leading teams and mentoring surveyors
- Strong knowledge of procurement routes, contract administration and cost control
- Commercially aware with experience contributing to fee generation
- Ability to provide strategic project advice to senior stakeholders
