Job Description
We are recruiting an experienced Sortation Manager to strengthen our hub operations team.
In this role you will manage a team of warehouse operatives throughout the night, ensuring they are engaged, organised and motivated while unloading or loading trailers that arrive at the site or await departure to our network of depots. You will oversee the accurate sortation of parcels to meet Key Performance Indicators.
Key Accountabilities
- Achieve the hub objectives relating to Health & Safety, productivity, and cost to deliver outstanding service to our depots and customers.
- Manage all operational procedures, ensuring the immediate resolution of any problems while maintaining high quality in all processes.
Qualifications
- Experience in a fast‑paced operation with proven people‑management experience, involving direct accountability and responsibility for motivating and leading a high‑performing team.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to inspire, motivate and manage a team.
- Decisive and effective decision‑making, problem‑resolution and time‑management skills.
- High levels of resilience, self‑motivation and flexibility.
- Excellent computer skills with the ability to use Google Chrome applications.
- Ability to produce comprehensive reporting and analyse data – a key requirement for this role.
- Vigilance against unscrupulous activity, taking swift and appropriate action when required.
- Demonstration of the core DPD DNA values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Hard Work and Accountability.
- Full UK driving licence.
