Our client is seeking a Field Operations Manager to join them and manage, direct and plan HVAC works. In this role you will allocate resources, maintain services, drive quality and meet project targets and schedules. This main contractor organisation will provide you with a busy platform where managing costs, tracking and reporting on progress is key. All with the backing and support of your regional Operations manager.
Responsibilities
- Managing, planning, organising and completing works
- Ensuring that variations and other costs are recovered within budget
- Monitoring your team including direct in‑house and agency operatives/sub‑contractors
- Managing and overseeing the resolution of complaints where required
- Guiding effective and efficient utilisation of plant, equipment, materials and transport resources
- Administering incentive schemes and ensuring information is processed to meet deadlines
- Driving operational procedures, practices, identifying and recommending change where required
- Taking risk‑based responsibility for all health and safety in the area of service delivery
- Engaging in continuous development of paperless solutions and using IT systems to manage your area
- Contributing to the continuous improvement and effectiveness within your business unit
- Presenting at monthly/weekly meetings on service delivery, operational KPIs, H&S report, resource levels, resource plan, work in progress, completed not invoiced, overdue debt
- Monitoring contract and account performance for internal and external requirements/analysis
- Providing quotations and price variations when needed for approval of clients
- Dealing with financial claims on contracts when deemed necessary
- Guiding the administration team for building up and submitting interim and final accounts for invoicing clients
- Managing recruitment process, conducting interviews and complying HR for new starters and leavers
- Monitoring and managing unproductivity, sickness and attendance and carrying out counselling and holding meetings as necessary
- Instigating disciplinary action in accordance with company procedures
- Assessing and ensuring continuous development of staff, including appraisals
- Reviewing vehicle telematics and taking appropriate actions with respect to driver’s behaviour and/or any incidents and accidents
Qualifications
- City & Guilds/time served trades person or justifiable equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years site experience, working within the property maintenance / construction industry sector
- CIOB Level 4 diploma in site management
- CITB CSCS health and safety card for a supervisor/manager
- SSSTMS H&S course or higher
- Certificate in asbestos awareness training
- IOSH 1‑day “Working Safely” training certificate (or equivalent)
