The role
The role is to effectively and professionally manage sheltered housing in line with Orbit’s policies and procedures. The responsibilities include providing high quality housing related support to older and vulnerable people, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and secure environment.
This role is part of Customer & Communities where you will help keep our promise to over 100,000 customers.
What you’ll achieve
- Maintain H&S requirements in accordance with H&S policies and specific risk assessments.
- Ensure all administration is completed efficiently and effectively in accordance with Orbit’s policies, procedures, and practices.
- Manage voids within the scheme to ensure they are let quickly to suitable applicants, reducing void loss.
- Induct and welcome new customers to the scheme so they understand how the services operate.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with customers while adhering to the code of conduct and professional boundaries.
What you’ll bring
Essential skills
- Listen and develop a clear understanding of situations/issues/queries to resolve matters.
- Competent user of ICT, able to send emails, compose and print letters, complete online forms, and use in-house IT packages such as Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Knowledge and/or experience of issues faced by older people or vulnerable groups.
- Able to build and maintain professional relationships with customers.
- Effective problem‑solving and negotiating skills.
Desirable skills
- CIH level 2 or 3 in Housing Practice, an equivalent qualification or a desire to undertake a professional qualification.
