Contract role: Integrated Intelligence Pod – Lead Analyst (OSINT) – Contract
Contract location: Hybrid
Contract duration: Starting ASAP – 6 months initially with possible extension (inside IR35)
We are seeking a Lead Intelligence Analyst to provide operational and intelligence expertise to lead an Intelligence Pod embedded within a sensitive client environment. The pod will deliver comprehensive security assessments to identify, assess and report on potential risks and threats. Intelligence Analysts in the pod are responsible for generating high‑quality strategic, tactical, operational and investigative intelligence products.
The primary activities of the pod are collecting, processing and analysing open‑source intelligence and delivering strategic decision‑making insights on a key threat area identified by our client. The pod will use specialist skills and proven tradecraft to investigate Open Source and Publicly Available Information (PAI).
Responsibilities
- The Lead Intelligence Analyst will provide a leadership and an escalation route for analysts inside the pod. The Lead Analyst will also support with the collection of real‑time information and investigate the threat landscape. This may cover online risks, reputational risks, identification of criminal behaviour, trends, early‑warning indicators, narrative, and sentiment to help deliver assessments.
- They will demonstrate expertise across Open‑Source Intelligence principles, collection methodologies and creating high‑quality analytical products. They will have a robust knowledge of OSINT collection processes to support strategic decision‑making including collection methods and technology, evidential standards of collection and misattribution methods and technology.
- The Lead Intelligence Analyst will be expected to work with senior client stakeholders to set intelligence start points including and not limited to: compiling keywords; scenario‑based threats; identifying themes of interest and potential threat actors.
- The Lead Intelligence Analyst will have a comprehensive knowledge of the OSINT landscape including and not limited to known threat actors, emerging trends, technological advancements and geopolitical shifts.
Essential/Required Skills
- Professional experience in a public or private sector organisation in an Intelligence leadership role.
- Experience in working with intelligence collection platforms and data visualisation tools. Previous experience using attribution‑managed technical tools is also desirable.
- Understanding of military and government intelligence principles, methodologies, and technologies.
- Evidential standard collection and analysis of web‑based OSINT and PAI e.g. logs of sites accessed, intelligence cut‑off dates (ICODs), limitations of access and evidence collected, e.g. images, captures of conversations, technical information about SOIs.
- Ability to escal ate high‑priority and relevant intelligence to senior stakeholders within the client team.
- Experience identifying and countering misinformation, disinformation, tracking online narrative and analysing public sentiment.
Desirable/Preferred Skills and Experience
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Intelligence, Security, Threat Intelligence, Cyber Security or any intelligence‑related certifications).
- Experience working on the design of intelligence processes.
- Experience identifying and countering online misinformation and disinformation narratives.
- Experience delivering or supporting strategic communications campaigns and/or policy‑focused research.
- Meticulous attention to detail and steadfast focus on quality and risk management.
- A proactive attitude and ability to problem solve, identify and manage issues, and escal e as necessary.
- A professional and confident communication style and an ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
