This is a rare opportunity to lead the relocation project of one of the UK’s most significant museum collections.
Role
Derby Museums is an independent charity which cares for more than 300,000 objects on behalf of Derby City Council. The collections include fine and decorative art, archaeology, natural history, science, technology, military history and social history. They include internationally important paintings of Joseph Wright of Derby, designated by Arts Council England as being of outstanding national significance. These collections inspire hundreds of thousands of people every year and support research, learning and exhibitions across the UK and beyond.
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning and delivery of the relocation of these collections into new storage facilities. Working jointly with Derby City Council, you will oversee complex logistics, develop future‑proof storage solutions, manage specialist contractors and multidisciplinary teams, and ensure our collections are protected and accessible for generations to come.

Salary
£50,000 per annum.
Contract
24‑month fixed‑term contract.
