Job Title: Project Engineer

Location: Within 50 miles of Doncaster (Hybrid/Field-Based Role)

Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 + Company Vehicle, Laptop, Phone, 25 Days Holiday, Pension (2% Employee / 5% Employer)

The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and hands‑on Project Manager / Engineer to take ownership of projects from cradle to grave. Based within a 50-mile radius of Doncaster, you will play a key role in managing the full project lifecycle, from initial customer engagement to final delivery and installation on‑site.

Projects typically range from £2,000 to £1 million, with larger projects requiring in‑depth involvement over 3+ months. You will be the central point of contact for customers, internal design teams, and external suppliers/subcontractors, ensuring seamless coordination and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full end‑to‑end project management of capital equipment projects
  • Liaise directly with customers, both remotely and on‑site, to understand requirements and manage expectations
  • Work closely with the internal design team on bespoke solutions; involvement in CAD design (2D/3D) is advantageous
  • Estimate project costs and create detailed technical/commercial proposals
  • Coordinate with and manage subcontractors and third‑party suppliers
  • Monitor timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring high standards of quality and service
  • Maintain clear documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements:

  • Strong engineering background, ideally in mechanical or process engineering
  • Proven experience managing capital equipment projects (In food processing , beverage, liquids/drinks industry)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to interpret and contribute to engineering drawings (CAD skills in 2D/3D beneficial)
  • Experience with cost estimation, budgeting, and proposal generation
  • Comfortable working in a customer‑facing, hands‑on role
  • Valid UK driving licence (company vehicle provided)

Package Includes:

Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 (dependent on experience)
