About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join a high-performing finance team within a well-established organisation. This position plays a key role in managing credit risk, driving cash collection, and supporting strong commercial relationships across the business.

This role will initially be offered as a 3-month contract, with a strong opportunity to transition into a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end B2B credit control processes to maximise cash collection and minimise risk
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Investigate and resolve complex credit issues, disputes, and overdue accounts
  • Monitor customer accounts, credit limits, and risk profiles in line with company policy
  • Produce and support reporting on aged debt, overdue balances, DSO, and cash flow
  • Negotiate and implement payment plans in collaboration with sales teams
  • Carry out account reconciliations and support allocation of cash receipts
  • Issue statements, reminders, and dunning letters to customers
  • Assist with invoicing, journal postings, and identifying discrepancies
  • Support month-end processes and provide analysis where required

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ recent experience working as a Credit Controller (essential)
  • Proven recent experience in B2B credit control (essential)
  • Strong understanding of credit risk management and collections processes
  • Experience managing high-volume ledgers and complex accounts
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Confident working with finance systems and Excel
  • Ability to build relationships across finance and commercial teams

Desirable

  • Experience working in a shared service or large corporate environment
  • Exposure to reporting metrics such as DSO and aged debt analysis
  • Understanding of accounting principles and journal postings
