Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer
Location: Near RugbySalary: £50,000 + benefitsShift pattern: 4 on 4 off days & nights 12‑hour shifts
We are recruiting an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer for a well‑established automated distribution business with multiple sites across the UK. The Role
You will be part of a shift‑based engineering team, responsible for maintaining highly automated systems to ensure maximum uptime and performance. The role is hands‑on, with a strong focus on electrical fault finding, planned maintenance and continuous improvement.
- Electrical fault finding on automated machinery and conveyor systems
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdowns
- Working with PLC‑controlled equipment (fault finding, not programming)
- Supporting mechanical maintenance when required
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with site standards
- Contributing to reliability improvements and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
This role is ideal for an apprentice‑trained engineer with a strong electrical bias and experience in fast‑paced environments such as Food, FMCG or Automated Distribution.
- A completed electrical apprenticeship
- Strong electrical maintenance and fault‑finding experience
- Background in Food, FMCG, logistics or automated warehousing environments
- Experience working with automation, conveyors, sensors, drives and motors
- Basic PLC fault‑finding knowledge (Siemens/Allen Bradley or similar)
- A proactive, team‑focused approach to engineering
