Field Service Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our Service & Commissioning team. You will be responsible for installing, commissioning, servicing, and repairing smoke and fire damper control systems and related equipment at customer sites.
This is a hands‑on role requiring strong electrical knowledge, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a customer‑focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, service, and repair smoke and fire damper control systems and interfaces.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system faults on-site and remotely.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive service work.
- Produce detailed service reports and technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and site requirements.
- Work closely with internal engineering and support teams to resolve technical issues.
- Manage service calls and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and service stock.
- Provide feedback to support product and service improvements.
What We’re Looking For
- Time‑served electrician with strong electrical and electronic control systems experience.
- Fully qualified electrician (minimum 17th Edition / BS 7671).
- Proven experience in a Field Service Engineer or similar role.
- Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
- Good understanding of electrical circuits and control panels.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
- Must be willing to travel extensively and stay away from home when required (including overnight stays).
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience with fire and smoke damper systems.
- Electrical design, installation, or verification qualifications.
