Working for the City of Doncaster Council as an Engineer with the Highway Design Team could be perfect for you.

Responsibilities

  • Design, procurement and supervision of an extensive range of highway schemes, including carriageway resurfacing, active travel schemes, public realm and major improvement schemes.
  • Undertake or arrange topographical and other surveys.
  • Preliminary and detailed design.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities and contract documents.
  • Act as Designer in accordance with the 2015 CDM Regulations.
  • Procure through in-house service provider or framework contracts.
  • Supervise work, including measures, valuations and on-site site supervision.

What you will bring to the role

  • Proficiency in highway design, with experience using design guides such as DMRB, LTN1/20 and Manual for Streets.
  • Proficiency with industry software including AutoCAD and, ideally, Civil 3D.
  • Ability to manage projects from feasibility through detailed design to procurement.
  • Experience in procurement activities, including preparing tender documentation, evaluating bids and supporting contract award.
  • On-site involvement with site supervision, measurements and valuations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
