Study Skills Officer

Windsor & Strode’s Colleges are looking for a part‑time Study Skills Officer (20 hours per week during term time, 39 weeks per year) to join our Student Services team and report to the Curriculum Administration Support Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a program of workshops and personalised interventions to enhance study skills, covering basic literacy to higher‑education preparation skills such as research and essay writing.
  • Collaborate closely with curriculum and tutorial teams to identify students in need of extra support and coordinate the involvement of external experts.
  • Promote study skills services, ensuring the availability of up‑to‑date support materials.
  • Track and evaluate the impact of services to align with departmental targets and college priorities.
  • Interact directly with students and staff, manage learner behaviour, and contribute to community‑building activities within the college.
  • Perform routine administrative duties and remain flexible to work additional hours during college events.

Requirements

  • Completion of an enhanced DBS and Barred List check, and other legally required checks, as part of safeguarding obligations.
