Transport Planner/Sales Support
- Location: Papworth Everard, Cambridgeshire

- Salary: 31,300 – 39,400 dependent on experience
This dual role combines logistics coordination with sales support, offering a dynamic work environment where no two days are the same.
Day-to-day of the role
- Co-ordinate and plan deliveries to customers, ensuring efficient route planning and compliance with driving regulations.
- Manage vehicle maintenance bookings and monitor vehicle compliance, including downloading and recording drivers’ tachograph details.
- Train and assist in sales tasks, such as answering customer calls and supporting the sales team.
- Collate orders for dispatch, considering factors like weight, volume and time constraints to optimise delivery.
- Liaise with drivers regarding work hours and ensure the right vehicles are used for tasks to maximise efficiency.
- Organise and book orders for dispatch via various methods including pallet carriers and postal services.
- Maintain communication with customers to inform them about delivery statuses.
- Oversee forklift servicing and repairs and ensure any vehicle defects are addressed promptly.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all relevant tasks for inspection purposes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in logistics coordination and sales support.
- Essential knowledge of CPC and tachograph regulations.
- Familiarity with local area to maximise drivers’ routes and ensure compliance with driving hours and WTD.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, can‑do attitude.
- Proficiency in maintaining records and handling logistical software.
