Data Co‑ordinator, Band 2 – Trauma and Orthopaedics
The Data Co‑ordinator will join the trauma and orthopaedic team within the surgical directorate at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Cheltenham.

Overview
Work as part of the nurse practitioner team, organising appointments for follow‑up arthroplasty patients, entering data for the National Joint Registry (NJR) and British Spine Registry, and organising bloods for metal‑on‑metal hip patients. The role is full‑time with day‑time hours; occasional weekend or out‑of‑hours may be required.
Responsibilities
- Arrange appointments and appointment slots for follow‑up clinics, and send letters to GPs.
- Generate patient letters for blood test requests and prepare blood forms.
- Contact patients with results; liaise with GP surgeries to chase pending pathology results.
- Assist with the annual NJR audit, maintain a high patient consent rate, and update the NJR database.
- Extract missing NJR operation data using PACS and other clinical information systems.
- Produce graphs and charts for ANP staff from ERAS/COAP data.
- Extract and enter data into the British Spine Registry (BSR) from operating lists and clinical case notes.
- Organise arthroplasty review clinics and set up weekly nurse practitioner clinic appointments.
- Maintain and update patient databases, including the metal‑on‑metal monitoring spreadsheet.
Qualifications & Experience
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience working autonomously and as part of a small multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask (manage >800 patient records).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work flexible hours and accommodate changing service needs.
- Knowledge of clinical data extraction for NJR and BSR; familiarity with PACS preferred.
