The Commercial Manager leads the sales and commercial strategy for the UK Oil & Gas Sales segment within the European Distribution Division. The role drives revenue growth, manages key client relationships, and ensures alignment between commercial activities and broader organisational objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing the sales strategy for the Business Unit by understanding the value drivers of the business and identifying profitable commercial/sales opportunities to grow market share.
- Determining the optimal pricing to balance profit with customer‑satisfaction.
- Identify market opportunities and potential new clients while ensuring we build and maintain existing relationships with major Oil & Gas customers.
- Develop and implement market strategies and develop new client relationships whilst also assisting the sales team in this area.
- Accurately forecast and develop business plans that build account revenue.
- Accurately forecast stock requirements whilst ensuring target levels are maintained.
- Work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to drive revenue growth with new and existing customers.
- Developing and maintaining an excellent understanding of the key customers to ensure that their needs are being met and that their business is retained.
- Manage the Sales team to ensure customer requirements are fully communicated and sales targets are set and managed in a timely manner.
- Lead, mentor, and performance manage the Sales team including carrying out the team’s annual performance reviews.
- Maintaining an awareness of external factors (including competitors and industry developments in relation to commercial activities) which impact the business.
- Collating and analysing business data pertaining to all commercial activities and presenting on a monthly basis.
- Ensure sales and client satisfaction through a high level of customer service.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to maintain Howco’s competitive positioning.

Qualifications
- Oil & Gas Raw material conversion and product knowledge (Low Alloys, Stainless and Nickel Alloys).
- Extensive experience in Sales and a good understanding of Operations.
- Understanding of managing Inventory.
- Excellent Interpersonal and management skills.
