Job Description:

Residential Deputy Manager – Liskeard – Internal Only

Internal opportunity as a Deputy Manager role within our Children’s Home and continue making a lasting difference to children’s lives every day.

Home: Tremarr, Liskeard, Cornwall. Our children have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and a range of developmental trauma. In this role you’ll support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home and help develop and coach the team.

Using our Attachment and Trauma Informed Care (ATIC) model, you will help lead a culture where children are respected, heard and involved in their own lives. You’ll bring strong therapeutic parenting practice and a commitment to achieving outstanding outcomes.

Our children have often experienced inconsistency from the adults around them. We’re therefore looking for a committed Deputy Manager who can provide stability, set clear expectations and model high-quality practice. If you’re ready for your next step within Five Rivers, this is your chance to build on what you already do well—relationship-based care, curiosity, empathy and leadership on shift.

What we offer you (internal progression):

Our leadership team will invest in your development through high-quality training and regular conversations about your career goals—supporting you to build confidence in management and strengthen your leadership toolkit.

What you’ll bring:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a leadership role within a Children’s Residential Setting
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Willingness to work towards Level 5 Leadership & Management if not already achieved
  • A proven track record with Ofsted, and strong understanding of the legislative framework and SCCIF
  • Confident coaching others, leading shifts and maintaining high standards of care and safeguarding

Driving licence:

Due to the location of the home, a full driving licence is essential.

Sleep‑ins:

The role includes overnight stays in the home. You will typically complete 2–3 sleep‑ins per week. You will receive an additional £50 per sleep‑in (eight per month is equivalent to £4,800 per annum).

Hours:

On average, 39 hours per week on a rota basis. Some flexibility is needed to ensure the smooth running of the home.

Role split:

Approximately 80% of your time will be on rota and 20% will be protected for administrative/leadership duties.

If you would like an informal conversation about the role, contact the Registered Manager at Tremarr.
