Shift Maintenance Craftsperson (Mechanical or Electrical based) Band 4
The Shift engineer performs work including activities which are complex and/or non-routine in electrical services. To maintain and repair the Hospital’s plant, equipment and services. Carry out fault analysis, testing, manufacturing, replacing, isolation, modifying, inspecting, improving, installing, maintaining and repairing of all electrical services, plant and equipment in compliance with all good practice guides, operational maintenance manuals and statutory requirements. Be proactive with regard to all forms of maintenance, good site resource management and security.
This role consists of 4 days on – 4 days off – 4 nights on shift rota.
Main duties of the job
To manufacture, assemble, erect, install and test new installations, services and equipment.
To undertake any duties which may be required commensurate with grade and competence as deemed necessary by the changing needs of the Trust.
Undertaking maintenance, repairs, minor improvement and capital work across the Trust as directed by management, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.
Undertake this role within a weekly rotating Day/Night shift system

Experience
- Electrical/mechanical experience
- NHS experience
Qualifications
- Proof of further learning in selected field
Knowledge
- Health and Safety knowledge
- Permit to work system knowledge
- HTM knowledge
