Specialist Transport Risk Assessor

About the role

WCC have an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual looking for a challenge to help deliver a safe and compliant home to school transport service. They must be capable of working as a team and as an individual.

Responsibilities

• Create risk assessments based on individual needs.
• Deal with day-to-day issues on specialist transport around health and safety.
• Gather information regarding safe walking routes.
• Inspect operators.
• Deliver passenger assistant training standards (PATS).
• Be part of a team of specialist transport risk assessors (team of 6).
• Work predominantly from home with the option to work in several Warwickshire County Council locations and visit education establishments when required.

Qualifications and requirements

• Experience of working with children and/or adults with special educational needs is essential.
• The Fluency Duty is required; you must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.
• Safeguarding checks are required; successful applicants will be subject to pre-engagement checks including a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Warwickshire County Council adheres to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and conducts assessments for declared offences.
• DBS code of practice and local policy considerations apply; an individual assessment will be completed where applicable.
