JobDescription:

You will be cominginto a technical role relating to the electro-mechanical aspects ofhardware obsolescence and design. In this role, you will providesupport to the Return to Manufacture Lead Engineer and subsequentSting Ray Mod-2 teams.

Coreduties:

  • Working undertechnical supervision, you will collaborate with the Sting Ray Mod2 (SRM2) Design Team to ensure alignment across Sting Ray Mid LifeUpgrade and SRM2 All Up Round, with minimal design standarddifferences
  • You will support the resolution ofobsolescence in the legacy elements of the SRM2 torpedo through newdesign, new procurement and component certificationactivities
  • You will work with supply chain toreinstate the manufacture and procurement of legacy elements of theSRM2 torpedo
  • You will support internal andsupplier verification activities through analysis, inspection, and test,including support to environmental qualification, and productinstallation activities
  • You will generatetechnical reports, design documents, specifications, and releaseartefacts required for procurement of hardware and progressionthrough design gates
  • You will contribute tothe identification and closure of issues emerging from all productlifecycle stages and manage the resulting changeembodiment activities

Essential Skills:

  • You will understand the theories and conceptsin an engineering discipline area gained through professionalqualification or equivalent experience
  • Youwill bring an understanding of engineering approaches, processesand procedures
  • You will have an understandingmechanical engineering principles and approachesunderpinning the design and development of assemblies, systems,sub-systems and services
  • You will beexperienced in understanding designs engineered formanufacturability, quality, and seamless transition into full scaleproduction environments

The Sting Ray Return to ManufacturingTeam:

You will be joining a teamwith a focus on underwater weapons, playing a key role indelivering upgrades and re-designs to the Sting Ray weapon system.The team is engaged in activities throughout the All Up Round,working with technical experts, manufacturing, quality and supplychain to resolve obsolescence and technical issues within the SRM2system.
