Job Description:
We are looking for two dedicated and organised Storekeepers to provide a comprehensive stores service, ensuring the accurate management, control and distribution of all stock, equipment, uniform/PPE and related resources across the Service. This includes maintaining computerised stock management and asset tracking systems, overseeing stock audits, coordinating the receipt and delivery of goods, and delivering an efficient courier service to all Service premises.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the computerised stock management system, ensuring an up-to-date record of all supplies and transactions is provided to Budget Managers, with the information needed to meet Service requirements. Ensure all systems, procedures and work practices meet the highest standards, with direct accountability for monthly and annual stock control audits and other audit checks. Where inaccuracies are identified, instigate an investigation process to identify findings and provide transparency for audit purposes.
- Maintain stock records and analysis using the computerised stock management system, making recommendations for stock increases or reductions based on demand, and identifying areas for improvement in liaison with the Clothing Manager.
- Facilitate the receipt of external deliveries, including stores stock and mail, ensuring all items are processed in line with Service procedures and promptly delivered to the intended recipients.
- Determine and provide a regular stores and courier service to meet operational and administrative requirements, and as otherwise directed, to all Service premises using a light or medium-sized van provided by the Service. Ensure daily courier and mail runs meet operational needs and are efficient and monitored.
- Support Operational Equipment Technicians when required, providing resilience for the charging and maintenance of sufficient BA and inflation cylinder stock to meet operational demand.
- Assist with the ongoing issue of uniform and workwear from Service clothing providers, monitoring quality and stock control compliance.
- Facilitate the fitting and issue of loan undress uniform, clothing and accessories for special events and other requirements, as directed, ensuring items are collected and returned to Stores with completed paperwork.
- Undertake uniform and workwear fittings for new starters and assist with the initial issue of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), uniform and workwear, ensuring employees receive the clothing and equipment needed in a timely manner to meet operational needs.
- Assist the Technical team with maintaining asset tracking systems for Stores products, ensuring a full log of equipment and items is monitored and maintained.
You will have:
- In-depth experience in the field of store accounting, stock control and warehousing.
- In-depth ability to accurately input data onto a computer database and maintain records in programmes such as Microsoft Excel or similar web-based programmes.
- Proven ability to work effectively alone or as part of a team and make a significant contribution to the attainment of joint goals.
- Full manual driving licence with no pending issues with Some experience of driving small / medium sized vans.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Good organisational and problem solving skills with an ability to work with minimum supervision in order to meet deadlines.
- Must be capable of performing lifting, carrying, loading and unloading goods in line with Manual Handling Regulations.
