Frontier Resourcing is delighted to be partnering with a growing Consultancy that supports the successful delivery of some of the UK’s most complex and high-profile programmes across the Infrastructure, Rail, Civil Engineering, Nuclear and Defence sectors.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Risk Manager to join their team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside industry-leading Project Controls professionals, providing specialist project risk management expertise across major infrastructure and capital delivery programmes.

This role is working on a hybrid basis of 3 days a week site based.

Responsibilities

  • Guide project teams through qualitative risk assessments and support the development of practical, cost-effective and timely mitigation plans.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to deliver effective project risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate risk identification workshops to ensure project risks and opportunities are captured, assessed and managed appropriately.
  • Develop, maintain and continuously improve project risk registers, ensuring risks are clearly defined with appropriate causes, events, impacts, ownership and mitigation strategies.
  • Produce risk reporting, analysis and insights to support monthly project and programme reporting.
  • Monitor project risk exposure, identify emerging risks and communicate findings to key stakeholders.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of project risk management methodologies, mitigation techniques and enterprise risk management processes.
  • Experience using quantitative risk analysis tools for cost and schedule risk assessments, including: @Risk, Primavera Risk Analysis, ARM or Safran Risk
  • Previous experience working within a Project Management, Project Controls or Project Risk Management environment.
  • Ability to maintain detailed project risk registers and provide high-quality risk analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Professional qualification such as Association for Project Management (APM) or Institute of Risk Management (IRM).
  • Experience working within the Nuclear, Rail, Infrastructure, Civil Engineering or Defence sectors.
  • Knowledge of wider Project Controls disciplines, including planning, scheduling and cost management.
