Are you highly organised, ambitious and interested in a career in the retail industry? my client is looking for a Buying Assistant to join their growing buying team, supporting the procurement of a diverse and a high quality range of products to customers.

The Role
As a Buying Assistant, you’ll provide essential administrative and commercial support to the Buying team, ensuring products are sourced efficiently and supplier relationships are maintained. You’ll work closely with internal departments and external suppliers to help deliver the right products at the right price, quality, and time.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Buyers with the day-to-day management of food categories.
- Raise and process purchase orders accurately.
- Maintain product and supplier information within internal systems.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, specifications, and deliveries.
- Analyse sales, stock, and market data to support buying decisions.
- Assist with new product launches and range reviews.
- Coordinate product samples and maintain accurate product documentation.
- Work closely with Supply Chain, Technical, Marketing, and Finance teams.
- Ensure all administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Numerate with strong analytical skills.
- An effective communicator who enjoys building relationships.
- Able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous buying, purchasing, merchandising, or administrative experience is desirable but not essential.
