Job Title: Air Export Operator

Location: Manchester, UK

Salary: £27,000 – £38,000 (Dependent on experience)

A leading, well-established freight forwarder in Manchester is looking for a focused Air Export Operator to join their expanding international logistics team. This role offers excellent progression, a highly competitive package, and a collaborative team environment.

Your Role:

  • Air Freight Coordination: Manage the end-to-end routing of time-critical air export shipments to global destinations.
  • Carrier & Agent Liaison: Secure space allocations and negotiate spot rates with airlines, GSAs, and overseas partners.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Prepare and process essential air freight paperwork, including Air Waybills (HAWB/MAWB), certificates of origin, and export customs declarations.
  • Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, providing real-time tracking milestones and proactive problem-solving.
  • Financial Upkeep: Handle job costing, ensure precise billing, and monitor the profitability of each shipment file.

What You’ll Need:

  • Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience working specifically within a UK air export forwarding environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of aviation security regulations (Known Cargo), Incoterms, and air freight customs procedures.
  • System Familiarity: Proficiency using standard freight management software (such as CargoWise, MultiFreight, or similar).
  • Skills: Outstanding communication skills with a sharp eye for detail and the ability to thrive under tight airport cutoff deadlines.
