School Administrator (SEND Department)

Full-Time | Secondary School | Liverpool

Milk Education is proud to be working in partnership with a prestigious and high-achieving secondary school in Liverpool to recruit a full-time School Administrator to support the school’s thriving SEND Department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and professional administrator who is passionate about education and making a positive difference in the lives of young people. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the SEND team, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of administrative processes that help students access the support they need to succeed.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • To support the SENCO in a strategic approach to SEN policy, practices, expectations, targets and teaching methods.
  • To work with parents/carers and other stakeholders so as to facilitate support for pupils with SEND
  • To establish staff and resource needs and advise the SENCO of likely priorities for expenditure and allocate available resources with maximum efficiency to meet the objectives of the school and subject plans and achieve value for money.
  • To support the implementation of the SENCO’s strategy for the best use of subject, technical and other expertise.
  • To provide information to the SENCO in relation to new resources from a wide range of sources inside and outside the school, including gathering evidence for submissions for Top-Up Funding
  • To understand and support pupils with special needs.
  • To support the work of volunteers and other Leaming Support staff in the classroom.
  • To work with students, Curriculum Leaders, class teachers and support staff with pastoral responsibilities to advise with regard to realistic expectations of behaviour and achievements are set for students with SEN.
  • To work with colleagues to ensure that there is a safe working and learning environment in which risks are properly assessed.
  • To play a full part in the life of the school community, to support its distinctive mission and ethos and to encourage and ensure staff and students to follow this example.
  • To work in partnership with other staff and provide information about pupils as appropriate.
