We’re looking for an Assistant Commercial Manager for a public sector organisation based in Milton Keynes (hybrid) on an initial 3-month contract, paying up to £550 per day (Inside IR35, Umbrella).
This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week in the Milton Keynes office, with no fixed days required.
The successful Assistant Commercial Manager will support a Commercial Manager across pre-contract activities, including preparing tender documentation, evaluating payments and variations, and managing procurement across a range of contract categories. You’ll assist with the measurement and certification of works in line with contractual obligations, and contribute to commercial reporting on allocated projects throughout the route.
You will need proven experience working with the following:
– Working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
– Problem-solving within a commercial or procurement context
– Basic commercial awareness and understanding of contract value
– Basic negotiation and influencing skills
– Computer literacy, including use of in-house and external software systems
Experience in the following would be beneficial:
– Communicating effectively at all levels, both internally and externally
– Membership of a relevant professional body (such as CIPS or RICS), or working towards it
– Use of electronic sourcing and/or procurement systems
