Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Family Solicitor to join a well-established and highly regarded Family Law team in South Wales. This senior position offers the chance to manage a high-quality caseload of privately funded family matters while playing an active role in the continued growth and development of the department.
The successful candidate will handle a broad range of family law work, with a particular focus on divorce and complex financial remedy matters, while supporting junior colleagues and contributing to business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of family law matters, primarily focusing on divorce and complex financial remedy cases.
- Advise clients on private children matters and related family law issues.
- Provide advice on pre-nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, and other family law arrangements.
- Undertake advocacy where appropriate.
- Maintain excellent file management practices and ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
- Contribute to business development activities, networking, and marketing initiatives to support departmental growth.
- Assist with the training, supervision, and development of junior team members.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an exceptional client service experience.
Candidate Requirements (Essential)
- Qualified Solicitor or FCILEx Authorised Litigator with a minimum of 6 years’ PQE or equivalent experience.
- Strong technical expertise in family law, particularly divorce and financial remedy matters.
- Proven experience managing an independent caseload of privately funded family matters.
- Confidence in undertaking advocacy where appropriate.
- Experience supporting, mentoring, or supervising junior team members.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to business development and client acquisition.
- Professional, approachable, and proactive attitude with a commitment to delivering high standards of client care.
