Interim Derivatives Lawyer – Netting & Collateral Enforceability – Remote working
Our client, a top city law firm, is looking to appoint an experienced lawyer on an interim basis to support a specialist legal team responsible for reviewing complex netting and collateral enforceability opinions across multiple jurisdictions.
This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with a strong derivatives, structured finance, banking or financial markets background to work on highly technical legal issues within a sophisticated global environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for reviewing and analysing complex legal opinions and memoranda concerning netting and collateral enforceability, providing clear commentary and legal assessment to key stakeholders.
Key areas of focus will include:
- Netting and set-off arrangements
- Collateral and security interests
- Title transfer collateral arrangements
- Financial collateral arrangements
- Insolvency clawback and disclaimer powers
- Legal issues impacting a broad range of derivatives products
- Cross-border enforceability considerations across multiple jurisdictions
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with strong experience in derivatives, banking, structured finance or financial markets law
- Proven experience reviewing and analysing netting and collateral enforceability opinions
- Strong understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks impacting derivatives transactions
- Ability to interpret and assess highly technical legal opinions and memoranda
- Experience working across multiple jurisdictions would be advantageous
- Able to start immediately or within the next month
Contract Details
- Fully remote
- 5 days per week
- Initial contract through to the end of 2026
- Strong likelihood of extension
- Immediate requirement
