Our client is an award-winning specialist supplier to the welding, fabrication, manufacturing and engineering sectors.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Technical Sales Executive to manage and develop an established territory across North and Central Scotland.
This is a field-based role focused on building long-term customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities and supporting industrial customers across fabrication, welding, manufacturing and engineering environments.
The successful candidate will be comfortable visiting customers on site and working within practical shop-floor settings. You will combine strong relationship-building skills with a sound understanding of mechanical, industrial or engineering-led environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop an established customer base across North and Central Scotland.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities through proactive field sales activity.
- Conduct regular customer visits to workshops, fabrication facilities, manufacturing sites and industrial environments.
- Build strong working relationships and develop an understanding of customers’ operational requirements.
- Recommend suitable products and solutions based on customer needs.
- Prepare quotations, proposals and follow-up activity.
- Work closely with internal sales and operational teams to deliver excellent customer service.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and manage a healthy sales pipeline.
- Represent the business professionally across all customer interactions.
What We Are Looking For
Essential Experience and Skills
- Proven experience in external or field-based B2B sales.
- Background within mechanical, fabrication, industrial, engineering or manufacturing sectors.
- Comfortable working in shop-floor and industrial site environments.
- Strong communication, relationship-building and account-management skills.
- Ability to manage a field-based territory independently and effectively.
- Experience using CRM systems and managing sales pipelines.
- Self-motivated, organised and commercially focused.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel regularly throughout North and Central Scotland.
Highly Advantageous
- Experience selling into welding, fabrication, manufacturing or engineering industries.
- Technical or solution-led sales experience.
- Familiarity with industrial equipment, consumables or capital sales.
- Experience supporting product demonstrations or applications.
- An existing network across the Scottish industrial sector.
Full product and technical training will be provided, alongside the support of an experienced leader and a strong central support team.

Most importantly, you will be confident working directly with customers in practical environments and capable of developing both existing accounts and new business opportunities across your territory.
