Belcan is seeking a Systems Engineer in Portsmouth!

Contract: 6 months | IR35: inside

Pay Rate: Up to £60/ph

Hybrid working (4 days onsite per week)

Are you an experienced Systems Engineer looking to work on cutting-edge satellite communication solutions? Our client is seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join their Defence & Space division in Portsmouth, working across innovative projects spanning land, sea and air domains.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer to play a key role across the full system lifecycle – from concept development through to operational deployment and in-service support.

Key Responsibilities

As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and leading various elements of the systems engineering life-cycle. You will identify stakeholders, capture and validate requirements, and define solution boundaries. You will design system architectures, conduct modelling and performance analysis, and lead trade-off decisions to select optimal solutions. You’ll also manage interface requirements, drive verification and validation activities, and support system integration and operational evaluation throughout the product life-cycle.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Degree-qualified in an engineering discipline (as recognised by IET)
  • Strong experience across systems engineering lifecycle activities (requirements, architecture, verification & validation)
  • Ability to apply structured systems engineering methodologies
  • Experience analysing and translating stakeholder needs into technical solutions
  • Strong understanding of system design, integration, and lifecycle management
  • Ability to obtain or hold SC clearance

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of military standards
  • Experience with military satellite communications systems
  • Chartered Engineer status (or working towards)
