We are looking for an experienced Trade Mark Paralegal to join our team to help support in managing the trade mark and design portfolios of our exciting client base.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Trade Mark Paralegal to join us (whether on a part-time or full-time basis), to support in managing the trade mark and design portfolios of our exciting client-base.
The role will be varied and extensive and will cover all areas of trade mark and design support, including:
· Preparation and filing of applications and forms with the UKIPO, EUIPO and WIPO
· Management of assignment and recordal projects
· Portfolio take-overs and reviews
· Handling client queries
· Deadline management
· Creation of both internal and external reports
· Invoicing
· Renewals
· Cost estimates
· Preparing template reports
· Docketing
· …and everything in between!
Who you are
You will be someone looking for a varied role within a close-knit team, offering autonomy and support in equal measure. You will be excited by the prospect of doing things differently and would love to have the freedom to present and implement ideas that help the firm run more effectively or efficiently. You will be comfortable with client interaction and will have an expert attention to detail.
As a Senior in the team, you must be comfortable working autonomously without supervision and instead be ready to supervise others, take ownership for projects and processes and lead in pushing the entire support function forward. There will also need to be a willingness to check work across the team for quality assurance purposes.
Given the nature of this role, it is essential that you have strong communication, organization and time management skills and that you are adept at handling international portfolios, have a strong understanding of the docketing process and regularly adopt a strategic and ‘big picture’ view as opposed to working on a case-by-case or task-by-task basis.
Given we are a small team, you must be a team player and have a broad range of experience that will allow you to hit the ground running. We are not expecting someone to have handled all areas of the role before; we can provide training where required. We just ask that you are keen to learn, develop and take on all aspects of such a varied position.
You should also have strong IT skills and a keen interest in utilising technology to create efficiencies in processes and workflows. We pride ourselves on delivering a top-quality service to clients so you will also need to be someone that shares those values.
