Overview
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Transformation / Category Management specialist to support delivery of its Stronger Futures Programme, focusing on the Third Party Spend workstream. The role will focus on reducing external spend, delivering measurable savings, and strengthening procurement capability.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead development and delivery of category strategies and plans
• Analyse spend, supplier, and contract data to identify savings opportunities
• Deliver supplier consolidation and contract optimisation programmes
• Identify and implement cashable savings and cost avoidance
• Partner with Finance, Procurement, and Service Leads to validate savings
• Develop governance frameworks, tools, and templates
• Support implementation of supplier rationalisation and demand management
• Build internal capability through knowledge transfer
Key Deliverables
• Category prioritisation and opportunity assessments
• End-to-end category plans with actions and savings targets
• Supplier analysis and consolidation recommendations
• Finance validation evidence packs
• Benefits tracking and reporting
• Governance recommendations and reusable toolkit
Required Experience & Skills
• Public sector category management experience
• Procurement transformation and cost reduction track record
• Supplier consolidation and contract optimisation expertise
• Strong spend analytics skills
• Experience working with Finance to validate savings
• Knowledge of public procurement regulations
