We are currently recruiting for two Quantity Surveyors on behalf of one of our clients in Slough.
- Junior Quantity Surveyor – 5+ years’ experience
- Senior Quantity Surveyor – 10+ years’ experience
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business delivering complex construction and civil engineering projects. The successful candidates will work across a diverse portfolio of projects, administering both JCT and NEC forms of contract. This is a hybrid role with a salary ranging from £40,000-£80,000 depending on experience.
The Role
You will play a key role in the commercial management of projects from pre-contract through to final account, ensuring strong financial control and successful project delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing all quantity surveying and commercial functions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Preparing and managing Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
- Cost planning, cost analysis and financial reporting.
- Managing procurement activities, including subcontract procurement.
- Contract administration under both JCT and NEC forms of contract.
- Valuations, variations, change management and final account settlement.
- Working closely with project teams to ensure commercial performance and effective cost control.
About You
- Junior QS: Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience.
- Senior QS: Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Building, or a related discipline.
- Professional membership of RICS is desirable.
- Experience working across both construction and civil engineering/groundworks projects.
- Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
- Excellent commercial awareness and financial management skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience in cost management, CVRs, procurement, reporting and final account negotiation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
