People / HR Business Partner
About The Role
We are looking for an experienced People/HR Business Partner with strong employee relations expertise to provide hands-on, pragmatic people support across the business during a period of growth and integration. Working with a small team across the country, you will own a varied employee relations caseload and partner with managers across the organisation as the business continues to evolve.
You will be equally comfortable advising managers on day-to-day people matters and rolling up your sleeves to deliver complex people projects. This role would suit someone who has thrived in a fast-paced start-up or scale-up and is energised, rather than daunted, by ambiguity and pace.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a broad range of employee relations matters from start to finish, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance, capability and conduct cases, providing commercially focused and legally compliant advice to managers.
- Support organisational change initiatives, restructures and people-related projects, ensuring fair, consistent and compliant processes throughout.
- Coach and develop line managers, building confidence and capability in managing people matters effectively.
- Interpret and apply HR policies and procedures, supporting policy reviews and ensuring compliance with current UK employment legislation.
- Contribute to organisational design and workforce planning to support business objectives.
- Assist with wider People team projects, process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyse people data and trends to identify risks, provide insight and support informed decision-making.
About You

- Previous experience as an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor with significant employee relations responsibility.
- Proven ability to manage complex employee relations cases independently from initial advice through to resolution.

- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and the ability to apply it in a practical, commercial way.
- Excellent coaching, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation.
- Resilient, adaptable and comfortable managing competing priorities.
- CIPD Level 5 (or above), or equivalent practical experience.
Desirable
- Experience supporting business integration, mergers or acquisitions.
- Background within a growing, regulated or technology-led organisation.
- Experience reviewing or harmonising HR policies, processes or terms and conditions.
- Exposure to HR systems implementation or migration projects.
- Payroll knowledge or experience supporting payroll processes.
