The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple projects from tender through to final account. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor looking to join a stable and growing business with long-term career prospects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial aspects of multiple projects simultaneously.
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets and forecasts.
- Procure subcontractors and suppliers.
- Prepare, submit and agree interim valuations.
- Manage subcontractor payments and final accounts.
- Identify and manage variations, change control and compensation events.
- Produce accurate cost reports and commercial updates for senior management.
- Monitor project profitability and identify opportunities to improve commercial performance.
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
- Assist with tendering and pricing of new works.
- Ensure contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, civil engineering, earthworks, infrastructure, aggregates, highways or heavy plant.
- Strong understanding of NEC and/or JCT forms of contract.
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple live projects.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting systems.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
