Visum recruitment has the pleasure of representing our client, a leading manufacturer of valves, controls, and systems for the building services industry.
Key Responsibilities – Area Sales Manage
- Develop and implement an effective territory sales plan to achieve agreed sales targets and drive profitable growth.
- Build and maintain expert product knowledge, identifying any training requirements to ensure customers receive accurate technical advice and excellent service.
- Manage and grow existing contractor and merchant accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
- Identify, develop and maintain relationships with Mechanical & Electrical consultants and consulting engineers to increase product specification opportunities and improve market visibility.
- Gather and share project intelligence to support specification, tendering activity and future sales opportunities.
- Maintain agreed customer call rates and ensure accurate diary management and reporting.
- Arrange and deliver Continuing Professional Development (CPD) seminars and technical product presentations with support from the wider business where required.
- Identify and develop OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) opportunities within the territory.
- Maintain accurate customer records, project information and sales activity using the company’s CRM system.
- Attend sales meetings, training sessions and customer events, including visits to manufacturing facilities where appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with all company Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety policies.
- Demonstrate and promote the company’s core values in all aspects of the role.
Experience – Area Sales Manage
- HNC or equivalent qualification.
- GCSEs and/or A Levels (or equivalent)
- Proven sales experience within the valve, hydronic, hydraulic or HVAC sector.
- Demonstrable success in winning new business and developing existing customer accounts.
- Experience working for a manufacturer selling directly into the market.
- Strong understanding of specification sales and experience working with Mechanical & Electrical consultants and engineers.
- Excellent territory management and customer planning skills.
