Electronic Test Engineer

Orion is working with a UK-based company with over 30 years of experience in designing and manufacturing standard and specialised batteries, chargers, and intelligent power management systems. Recently, they’ve expanded into developing innovative products across various industrial and commercial sectors, including Aerospace and Defence, among others.

Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking a motivated Electronic Test Engineer to join their busy engineering team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment involving design, development, testing, and manufacturing support. Responsibilities of the Electronic Test Engineer

  • Perform electronic testing, debugging, and validation activities on prototypes and production units.
  • Develop and execute test plans based on product specifications and standards.
  • Set up and use test equipment to gather measurement data and analyse results.
  • Support PCB component-level testing and system qualification activities.
  • Review electronic designs and documentation to ensure testability and compliance.
  • Assist in building prototypes and bespoke test setups.
  • Provide engineering support for manufacturing processes and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate on continuous improvement of testing and validation procedures.

Requirements of the Electronic Test Engineer:

  • A relevant 2:1 or higher degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Industry experience or a placement year in electronics.
  • Knowledge of test equipment, measurement, and data acquisition techniques.
  • Experience in prototyping, debugging, and functional testing of electronic systems.
  • Ability to interpret test data and demonstrate compliance with standards (e.g., EN, IEC, BS, Def-Stan, MIL-STD).
  • Understanding of analogue and digital circuit design at the component level.
  • Born in the UK; no barriers to obtaining security clearance.
