Compliance Manager

Location: Remote (with weekly travel to Milton Keynes)

Salary: Up to £53,000 depending on experience

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and detail-driven Compliance Manager to ensure our buildings, services, and operations meet all statutory, regulatory, and contractual requirements. This is a pivotal field-based role focused on maintaining safe, compliant, and efficient service delivery across a diverse estate including retail sites, head offices, and data centres.

Working closely with internal teams, contractors, and key stakeholders, you will play a critical role in reducing risk, driving compliance performance, and ensuring that all statutory obligations are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance Assurance:
  • Ensure full statutory and regulatory compliance across all properties, covering electrical, mechanical, fire, gas, water hygiene, asbestos, and life safety systems.
  • Remedial Actions Management:
  • Track, prioritise, and ensure timely completion of actions arising from inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Documentation & Records:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance records, certification, and supporting evidence for all statutory tasks and maintenance activities.
  • Risk Management:
  • Own and maintain the FM compliance risk register, ensuring risks, overdue actions, and non-conformances are identified, managed, and escalated appropriately.
  • Contractor Compliance:
  • Ensure contractors meet all statutory and contractual obligations, including competency checks, RAMS review, permit-to-work controls, and service validation.
  • Performance Monitoring:
  • Monitor contractor compliance performance against KPIs, including statutory completion rates, certification quality, and remedial close-out.
  • Reporting & Insight:
  • Deliver clear and accurate compliance reporting using CAFM systems and dashboards to support decision-making.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Analyse trends in compliance failures and audits, identifying recurring issues and implementing preventative and corrective actions.
  • Incident Support:
  • Assist in investigations into compliance-related incidents, conducting root cause analysis and reviewing technical records.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Liaise with internal teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure transparent and effective communication.

About You

We’re looking for a knowledgeable compliance professional with strong technical expertise and a proactive approach to risk management.

Essential Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma
  • IOSH Membership
  • IWFM Membership

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and its application within FM environments
  • Detailed knowledge of statutory inspection and testing regimes across key building systems
  • Working knowledge of CDM Regulations, duty holder responsibilities, and safe systems of work
  • Experience managing compliance in areas such as asbestos, water hygiene/legionella, electrical and gas safety
  • Proven ability to interpret technical reports, audits, and maintenance data
  • Experience using CAFM systems and compliance dashboards
  • Strong contractor assurance and performance management experience
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills
