Product Development Chef

Hours: Monday – Friday | 8:30am – 5:00pm

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Research & Development team and begin an exciting career in New Product Development (NPD).

You’ll work alongside experienced Development Chefs and Product Developers, helping to create innovative food products for major retailers and brands while gaining valuable commercial experience and learning how products go from kitchen concept to supermarket shelf.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Product Development Chef, you’ll support our development team by:

  • Preparing and producing kitchen samples for customers and internal tastings.
  • Creating repeat samples to ensure consistency.
  • Ordering, shopping for and organising ingredients.
  • Packaging and dispatching customer samples.
  • Managing kitchen stock and ensuring ingredients are rotated correctly.
  • Supporting the development of exciting new food concepts.
  • Assisting with recipe development and product costings.
  • Organising and participating in taste panels.
  • Supporting factory trials and product launches.
  • Collecting data during production trials and helping complete product documentation.
  • Working closely with Technical, Operations, Procurement and Commercial teams.
  • Keeping our development kitchen clean, organised and ready for innovation.

What We’re Looking For

This role would suit someone who:

  • Has experience working as a Chef, Commis Chef, Demi Chef, Chef de Partie, Sous Chef or in a similar culinary role.
  • Is passionate about food, flavours and innovation.
  • Wants to learn how food products are developed for major retailers.
  • Enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.
  • Has excellent organisation and communication skills.
  • Is creative, enthusiastic and keen to learn.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence (preferred).

No previous New Product Development experience is essential – we’ll provide training and support to help you build your career.
