Job Description:

ROV Operator (Short-Term Contract)

Remote / Travel-based | ⏱ 3-month engagement | Immediate start

Longline Environment is an environmental technology company specialising in aquaculture risk assessment, remote sensing, and marine spatial planning. We work across fish farm sites in Europe and beyond, supporting operators with environmental monitoring, site auditing, and subsea inspection.

We’re looking for an ROV operator for a short-term contract to support fieldwork at aquaculture sites. This is a hands-on, travel-involved role.

What we need:

  • Practical experience operating underwater ROVs (commercial or hobbyist background considered)
  • Ability to capture clear video and imagery for environmental and structural assessment purposes
  • Willingness to work on or around fish farm infrastructure (net pens, moorings, seabed)
  • Comfortable working independently in remote or coastal locations
  • Quick learner — fish farm experience is a plus but not essential if you can get up to speed fast

What you’ll be doing:

  • Piloting ROVs at aquaculture sites for net inspection, seabed monitoring, and mooring assessment
  • Supporting audit teams with subsea video documentation
  • Basic equipment maintenance and care in the field

What we offer:

  • Short-term contract with potential to extend
  • Travel and fieldwork expenses covered
  • Exposure to a fast-growing environmental technology and aquaculture company
