Swarm Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a long-established, client-focused, St James’ Place Partner Practice in their search for a Paraplanner. The firm provides bespoke wealth management and financial planning advice to individuals, families, trustees and business owners across the South East, helping clients build, grow, protect and preserve their wealth through every stage of life. Their services span investment management, retirement and pension planning, estate and inheritance tax planning, trusts, later-life planning and corporate financial solutions. About the Role

As a Paraplanner, you’ll work closely alongside advisers and support staff, contributing to the delivery of high-quality financial planning—particularly on more complex cases. This is an excellent opportunity for a part or fully qualified paraplanner who values a supportive, team-oriented environment, with access to ongoing study support and genuine opportunities to develop within a business where everyone plays a hands-on role in client service.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing high-quality suitability reports across investments, pensions, protection, retirement planning, and inheritance tax planning
  • Analysing client information and conducting technical research
  • Structuring advice in line with client objectives, SJP propositions, and FCA requirements
  • Maintaining accurate client records and workflows using Salesforce
  • Producing cashflow modelling and planning illustrations where appropriate
  • Supporting Advisers with pre- and post-meeting preparation
  • Assisting with complex planning cases and technical queries
  • Keeping up to date with regulatory, legislative, and SJP proposition changes

Qualifications

  • Part-qualified: Working towards Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (CII, CISI, or equivalent)
  • Or experienced: Diploma-qualified or able to demonstrate substantial paraplanning experience

Required Skills

  • Experience within a UK financial planning or paraplanning environment
  • Strong understanding of the regulated advice process
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM systems

Preferred Skills

  • Experience writing suitability reports independently
  • Strong pensions and retirement planning knowledge
  • Experience within a St. James’s Place Partner Practice
  • Experience with cashflow planning software

Pay range and compensation package

  • £35,000 – £48,000 dependent upon experience
  • Exam funding and study support

  • 25 days per annum plus 8 bank holidays. After 3 years’ service, an additional day is added per year, up to a maximum of 30 days
