As demand for our services continues to grow, we are looking for motivated individuals to join our Kirkintilloch-based team as either an Apprentice Electrician or Adult Trainee Electrician, and begin or progress a rewarding long-term career in the electrical engineering industry.

You will be enrolled in a certified Modern Apprenticeship programme (or equivalent structured training pathway for adult trainees), working towards industry-recognised qualifications while gaining real-world experience on a wide range of marine and industrial electrical projects.

On successful completion of training and assessments, you will achieve a recognised SCQF7 Level 7 Award in Electrical Installations, providing a strong foundation for a long-term career in the electrical industry.

The Role

You will work alongside experienced engineers and electricians, learning the practical and technical skills required to install, maintain, test, and repair electrical systems across a variety of projects.

This is a hands-on role with full support, training, and mentoring provided from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems on marine and industrial projects.
  • Support workshop and site-based electrical work across a variety of installations.
  • Learn to install wiring systems, control panels, and associated electrical equipment.
  • Assist with fault finding, testing, and diagnosing electrical issues.
  • Prepare tools, materials, and equipment for ongoing work.
  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures and maintain safe working practices.
  • Assist with site surveys and customer site installations when required.
  • Learn to read and understand technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Develop practical electrical skills through structured training and on-the-job experience.

About You

We are looking for motivated individuals who are eager to develop a career in the electrical trade.

You should have:

  • A strong interest in electrical engineering and becoming a qualified electrician.
  • A willingness to learn, develop new skills, and take on practical training.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach.
  • The ability to work well as part of a team and take instruction.
  • A positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • For school leavers: National 5s / Highers (or equivalent) in Maths, Physics, Engineering or technical subjects is desirable.
  • For adult trainees: previous work experience in a practical, technical, construction, or engineering-related role is beneficial but not essential.
  • willingness to travel for site-based work when required, both locally and internationally.
