Job Description:

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, an award-winning construction and civil engineering contractor, who are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join their HR team on a 12-month fixed term contract. Working closely with managers and employees across the business, this role will focus on supporting key HR activities including recruitment, onboarding, training and employee development, whilst ensuring strong operational delivery across the HR function.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building relationships, improving processes, and supporting people initiatives. Previous experience within the construction industry would be ideal but not essential.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience within a HR Generalist, HR Advisor, or similar HR position
  • Previous experience within the construction industry would be ideal but not essential
  • CIPD qualified or working towards qualification
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages, particularly Outlook and Excel
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills with strong attention to detail

Roles & Responsibilities

Leading recruitment activities including role scoping, advertising opportunities, liaising with agencies, applicants and hiring managers, and assisting with interviews

  • Coordinating new starter processes including preparing employment contracts, collecting compliance documentation, and ensuring all right to work and onboarding requirements are completed
  • Supporting employee lifecycle activities including onboarding, new starter check-ins, exit interviews, employee record maintenance, and communicating feedback to management teams
  • Managing training compliance activities including conducting training gap analysis, coordinating external training courses, and delivering internal learning and development programmes
  • Supporting HR reporting, departmental communications, and HR projects whilst ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and management systems
