The business regularly handles high-value items, lending up to £1 million on single pieces of jewelry, offering a dynamic and specialist environment for skilled professionals.Role Description The Master Goldsmith role at Miltons Diamonds is a full-time, on-site position based in Liverpool. The Master Goldsmith will work on the bench to craft, repair, and restore fine jewelry, including gold and other precious metals, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. Daily tasks include setting stones, resizing rings, undertaking complex repairs, and performing custom alterations and design adjustments in line with client requirements. The role also involves collaborating with sales and pawnbroking team members to assess items, provide technical advice, and support accurate valuations. The Master Goldsmith will interact with customers when needed to explain work carried out, discuss bespoke design options, and uphold the company’s reputation for trust and professionalism.Qualifications

  • Strong technical skills in goldsmithing, including bench work, jewelry construction, and repair.
  • Proficiency in jewelry design and the ability to interpret and execute bespoke design briefs.
  • Experience with engraving and other decorative techniques on precious metals.
  • Effective customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with a diverse clientele.
  • Sales awareness and the ability to support retail and pawnbroking teams with product knowledge and item assessments.
  • Previous experience in a high-end jewelry workshop or retail environment, ideally working with luxury items.
  • Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
  • Ability to work on-site full time in Liverpool and collaborate closely with a small, experienced team.
  • Relevant vocational training or certification in goldsmithing or jewelry making; apprenticeship or equivalent experience is highly advantageous.
