The Metropolitan Police Service Leadership Academy has partnered exclusively with Reed Talent Solutions to recruit a number of experienced Leadership Academy Facilitators on a temporary contract basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to one of the UK’s largest leadership development programmes, supporting the delivery of training to approximately 34,000 Police Constables, Detectives and police staff as part of the Met’s commitment to developing leadership capability and embedding a positive organisational culture across the organisation.

Based in Central London, this is a fully onsite role, delivering training at a dedicated training venue and potentially other Metropolitan Police locations. The programme is expected to run for six months and will require facilitators to work Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00.

The rate for this role will be £367 per day umbrella (or £281.41 PAYE) with a likely start date in September. Successful candidates will need to undergo CTC/NPPV2 Police vetting so it wont be an immediate start.

We are looking for experienced trainers, facilitators and learning professionals who are passionate about developing people and creating engaging learning experiences. Previous experience within policing, law enforcement, criminal justice or the wider public sector would be highly beneficial.

About the Role

As a Leadership Academy Facilitator, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality leadership training to mixed groups of officers and staff. You will play an important role in helping participants understand and embed key leadership behaviours and organisational values whilst creating an inclusive and interactive learning environment.

Working alongside fellow facilitators and programme leads, you will ensure training is delivered consistently, professionally and in line with programme objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality leadership training programmes to officers and staff.
  • Facilitate engaging classroom-based learning sessions.
  • Encourage participation, discussion and collaboration amongst learners.
  • Support delegates in understanding and applying leadership principles and behaviours.
  • Maintain attendance records and support course evaluation activities
  • Collaborate with programme teams to ensure a consistent learner experience.
  • Adhere to quality assurance standards and delivery expectations.

Core Experience & Skills

  • Extensive experience delivering training, workshops or facilitated learning programmes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly and manage group dynamics effectively.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider delivery team.
  • Experience using PowerPoint and other training delivery tools.

  • An experienced trainer, facilitator or L&D professional.
  • Confident delivering training to large and varied groups.
  • Professional, adaptable and highly organised.
  • Passionate about learning, development and leadership.
  • Comfortable working in a structured, face-to-face learning environment.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

  • Level 4 Training Qualification, College of Policing Trainer Essentials Programme, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience within policing, law enforcement, criminal justice or the public sector.
  • Experience facilitating leadership, behavioural or cultural change programmes.

Working Arrangements

  • Fully onsite role with no hybrid or home working available.
  • Working hours of 08:00–16:00, Monday to Friday.
  • Trainers may be observed as part of quality assurance and performance monitoring.
  • High standards of professionalism, conduct and delivery are expected at all times.
