Taylor Root is delighted to be working with a leading international law firm that is looking to hire an Associate or Senior Associate into its highly regarded Insurance Disputes team. This role offers an opportunity to specialise in Warranty & Indemnity (W&I) insurance and broader transaction liability risks, advising on some of the market’s most complex and high-value claims.

The Team

The team is recognised as a market leader in insurance coverage and disputes, advising a broad range of insurer and reinsurer clients across financial lines, transaction liability and political risk insurance. The practice is particularly well known for its involvement in sophisticated cross-border disputes arising from M&A transactions, as well as wider financial and specialty insurance matters.

The Role

You will advise insurers and reinsurers on complex coverage issues and disputes, with a significant focus on W&I claims and other transaction liability policies. The role will involve managing claims from notification through to resolution, handling litigation and arbitration proceedings, and providing strategic advice on high-value, often international, matters.

This position offers excellent client exposure, close partner interaction and the opportunity to take ownership of intellectually challenging and commercially significant work from an early stage.

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor with 3+ years’ PQE gained within a recognised insurance, commercial litigation or disputes practice.
  • Strong insurance disputes or coverage experience with experience handling or advising on W&I claims.
  • Exposure to transaction liability, financial lines or political risk insurance is beneficial.
  • Excellent analytical, drafting and client management skills.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to team and business development initiatives.
